Widow Wood For Christ is a ministry of Little Country Church in Redding, California.

The Purpose of Widow Wood for Christ is to first come alongside widows and then for those that are fully disabled to provide a cord of firewood for heat. It is cut and delivered to those who meet the following guidelines taken from 1 Timothy:

1Tim. 5:3   Honor widows who are really widows. 4 But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety at home and to repay their parents; for this is good and acceptable before God. 5 Now she who is really a widow, and left alone, trusts in God and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.
1Tim. 5:9   Do not let a widow under sixty years old be taken into the number.
1Tim. 5:16 If any believing man or woman has widows, let them relieve them, and do not let the church be burdened, that it may relieve those who are really widows.

For widows that have children and grand children(or are under 60) there are moveable and loadable wood rounds available at our woodyard that family can come and load to provide for the widow in their family.
If the children or grandchildren(or family) do not have access to a splitter, the opportunity will be given to be trained and use a splitter at the wood yard to split the wood to provide for the widow in need.

For true widows that do not burn firewood but instead rely on propane or kerosene there is the opportunity to receive $275 worth of propane or kerosene in a fire season (the dollar equivalent to a cord of wood)

This ministry is staffed entirely by volunteers who have a heart to minister to widows as the Lord has encouraged us in scripture:
James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
